Is my adsense working?

I am not sure if my adsense is working. I know that no one is reading this site but if you happen upon this post would you mind clicking on my adsense links to see if they are working. If you do click on them could you leave me a comment letting me know to check my account. Sometimes these blogs can be so frustrating

Ad sense and ad blocker

I stared to use ScribeFire
on my firefox web
browser. I never seemed to get my adsense
to work. For some reason I have not figured out my Scribefire quit
working correctly. So i decided to create a new profile for my
firefox to see if I can get scribefire to work. So Scribefire was the
only extension I had plugged in to Firefox. I realized that I could
see my adsense. I thought my adblocker was preventing this and I
tried to turn it off. I have been surfing for a few years now using
almost exclusively firefox and adblocker. So now I am using a new
profile on my firefox without any adblocker. Funny to see some of my
favorite websites with the add added back in. Now that I have started
to try and earn revenue on my site I want to see the ads. Funny it
was just a revelation to me. So lesson learned if you want to see
your ads you must turn off adblocker, duh.

New find: Scribe Fire

I found a great extension for firefox. This is the first post from ScribeFire it is really neat way to blog. It allows you to blog from a pane in the page. So if you are looking for information from a web page it is still visible. If you have more than blog you can manage them all from the same tool. I even have blogs under different profiles and I can post to all from the same tool without having to log back in.

Blogger FTP host on Yahoo hosted website

My work's website is hosted at Yahoo business. As I posted before it makes for a nice easy site that looks professional. So they have an option to add a blog. The YahooBuisness loads Wordpress onto your site for you. I loaded a few times and really I struggled to work with the Program. My HTML skills are just to weak to work with the program at this point. I am sure give some time I can improve to the point were it is a nice program to work with. But at my current HTML skill level using the Blogger software is much more user friendly and allows for a professional looking site.

So I knew that Blogger can be FTP to a server that you have. I spent the day trying to get blogger to load into my website but I had no success. I read through all forums and helps and could not resolve it. So I am back to learning how to use Wordpress. After wasting a day and getting no were, i guess I learned more about FTP and some other facts involving the makeup of blogger and wordpress. I am left to figure out HTML and make Wordpress do what I want, which in the long run I think will be good since it is a better program in the long run just has a steeper learning curve.

Nice post I found for HTML

What ever you think of the site Redstate Blog and its politics they have a nice little starter section for HTML. It is a nice useful information for a beginner like me. I think using html on blogs and such is a nice start to learning to use the basics. I want to learn how to layout whole pages but I need to grasp the basics first. I love to post on blogs anyway so it is useful and fun at the same time.

My work website

I have a website I set up for work. I know there is not a lot of presence on the internet for Bodyshops so I think it is a possible for me to exploit this segment to advertise. If you are looking for a shop any where near my market I want my shop to come up first on the list. I am even using Google adwords. It is customizable so you can have a small budget and play around with it to see what gets traffic to your site and for me ultimately to my door.

So today I decided to try something new. I added a blog to the website. My work site is actually hosted by yahoo. They have the easiest set up process. They have some tools that allow you to set up a professional looking site with little effort. I have privative knowledge of HTML and the effort I made to create a site look awful. I spent a lot of time trying to create a site that looks nice. Some of it is just being artistic and knowing what looks nice together with coloring and lines and such. So if you want a quick, professional site give Yahoo a try.

The downside with their program is the lack of flexibility. You can not add any widgets or modify any of the code. Other than some basics like add a column or text and pictures there about 10 or 15 templates. You can only change the words on the page so often. As I have been playing around with blogs lately I decided to add a blog to my website. Yahoo allows you to add a blog to your website. You use wordpress though to log into your blog. This actually requires a different ID than your yahoo ID. It is all very interesting. Since I am used to using Blogger like for this blog it is a switch to learn WordPress. Again there is more flexibility but you need to have more knowledge of how HTML works to use.

I figured I could use the blog to keep the site a little bit fresh. So there would be changes every time I post on the blog. Also I know that I can post links and other stuff to try and get a higher page rank. Of course unlike my personal website the one on that site must be professional and related to my work. It is a start though. The big question in my mind though is can I get a higher page rank for the index page if I get a high page rank for a subfolder. We shall see.

bush's legacy

Ok my other blog which I like to write about politics I posted an article which I titled the same as this one. It was not really an article but just my musing. I think the ultimate goal of anything posted on the web is to have a high page rank. Oh yes some say they are just on line to have some fun or they are not worried about who sees what they wrote or designed or posted. But if you do not want someone to see what you wrote then you might as well put it in a diary you can lock in your bedstand so no one else can read it. If you are putting something on the web you want it seen. No matter how you slice it the fact that someone read your site is goal of posting on a website. While some just see who happens by I want to figure out how to get as many eyeballs on what I posted as possible. The beauty of the internet is you can find a niche and many people who would never have met in real life can gather online and create a community around a subject.

Anyway back to my subject. I signed up on Google webmaster. Not sure if the link will work but you can just search at Google for keyword: webmaster. Anyway, I put my sites into their system. I am not sure what it all means. I will have to do some more exploring to see what value there is having signed up. I put a meta tag on my sites so google could verify them. I ams sure they get some value in me doing that. There is always some quid pro quo on the internet.

So my blog for some reason had a bunch of links. For some reason technorati put a link to my site because of the key words. I have no idea why. Some of my reason for this post is to see if "Bush's Legacy" will be again picked up and linked. The goal would be to get linked obviously with out going to link list and crap like that.

We shall see.
